« Playing Basketball at the highest level is a chance you cannot take for granted because it only represents a short amount of years in your life. Axel made the choice to start being an entrepreneur early, well advised by the people around him, for a few reasons and here are some of them :
First off, it allowed me to use my competitive spirit outside of the court.
Secondly, it really fitted with my character. I am a very curious and thirsty for knowledge type of man, and being an entrepreneur makes you knowledgeable in many different fields from investments, to building your own business, running a team, being a better leader, communication, marketing and not to forget the main subject of your business. Whether it is Bitcoin, cars, oil, real estate, fashion and so on, you need to be knowledgeable about everything!
Finally, it is a great way for me to optimize my free time and get ready for what is coming after Basketball.
Like in any brand-new work, I had to level up. A lot of reads and writing were mandatory, and I also decided to go back to school this past summer to attend the Luxury management program of HEC Paris to get back on track with the educational system. »
International Business Academy at Bocconi
« I had an amazing time in Bocconi one of the best business school Europe, following program lead by the National Basketball Player association. Branding, story telling, how to take fully advantage of your image, how to run a brand were at the menu. I used my resources (playing for the French national team allows you to get a “formation” for free) to apply for HEC summer school. »

I felt relief, satisfaction, happiness, and pride at the same time. This achievement was the result of almost 10 years of hard work and perseverance, and at this rate I would soon have enough money to retire and never have to work again. This is what I thought. However, that vision of my post-career would be altered while I was having dinner with my best friend Bruno on the terrace of the restaurant les Deux Magots in Paris. I was only playing basketball when he suggested me to invest in his startup… »

Immersion in my first startup: between excitement and discovery!
« At Heex, we want to solve 3 major problems: pollution, car accidents, and traffic jams. Indeed, these 3 threats are the source of deaths and injuries, damages to the environment, and time wasting. In order to solve these issues, we want to democratize: electric cars to reach no CO2 emission, autonomous cars to reduce accidents, and shared transportation to have a better traffic fluidity. This democratization will move towards what we call “smart cities”, where vehicles are interconnected with everything from other cars to road signs or parking places. »
